PhyleNET was a networking concept developed by students in Dresden in the early 1990s and operated primarily in eastern Germany. Today it is considered a failed alternative to the World Wide Web that never made it mainstream. My graduation project »Ich mag das Internet nicht mehr« (I don't like the internet anymore) revisits this forgotten network through eight short videos and an interview with one of its original developers, asking what a more human-centered internet could look like.
